This is a mains-powered USB charger which can handle 5 connections at once. I was interested in this device as I was running out of plug sockets. Some of those sockets are for charging devices through USB; for example, my smartphone and HTC Vive controllers. Using this device, I planned to replace three chargers with one, freeing up plug sockets in the process.
On unpacking the product, I was quite surprised by how small it is. I was expecting something quite a bit larger, so I recommend checking the dimensions before you order, like I should have. This was a pleasant surprise however, as it’s much easier to place than expected, and seems to be built well. In the box, you get the charger itself along with a power cable to plug it in, and this cable measures 150cm.
The main attraction of this product on first glance, for me, was that one charger could replace many. However, one of those chargers I wanted to replace was a Samsung Adaptive Fast Charger which I use to charge my smartphone. Once you’ve experienced fast charging, you don’t want to go back to normal charging, so it was important that I keep this feature. Fortunately, one of the five USB connections on this product supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0, which is also compatible with Samsung’s fast charging. Using this device, I can fast charge my Galaxy S6 Edge+, and it works just like it was connected to the Samsung charger. Additionally, I can charge four more USB devices without using any extra plug sockets.
I think this is great piece of kit for anyone looking to condense several chargers into one, freeing up some space in the process. Additionally, this would be great for anyone who travels, as you can carry this one charger instead of perhaps needing multiple.
